The Domestic Policy Council (DPC) drives the development and implementation of the President’s domestic policy agenda in the White House and across the Federal government, ensuring that domestic policy decisions and programs are consistent with the President’s stated goals, and are carried out for the American people.

Established in 1993 via Executive Order 12859 that established the Domestic Policy Council

President William J. Clinton split the office, forming the current Domestic Policy Council and the National Economic Council.

The Gender Policy Council (GPC) was established by President Biden to advance gender equity and equality in both domestic and foreign policy development and implementation.
March 8, 2021 executive order established the Gender Policy Council
The GPC works in coordination with the other White House policy councils and across all federal agencies to drive a strategic, whole-of-government approach to advance gender equality and gender equity, as part of the implementation of the first-ever National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality in the U.S.
